Lobos rebound with win over George Mason

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – With their starting point guard out with an ankle injury the University of New Mexico Lobos found scoring from other sources Friday as they stopped George Mason in the Puerto Rico Tip Off 69 to 58. Juco transfer Jordan Goodman had his best performance as a Lobo, scoring 19 points on 7 of 10 shooting.

Senior guard Deshawn Delaney followed with a solid night of 16 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals and one block. Senior guard Hugh Greenwood had 13 points. The Lobos shot only 59 percent from the free throw line but, made them down the stretch when they were most needed.

From the floor, the Lobos shot 46 percent while George Mason struggled to 33 percent. Shevon Thompson led the Patriot in scoring with 21 points. With the win the Lobos improved to 3 and 1 on the season and will meet Texas A&M for their final game in Puerto Rico Sunday. On another note, guard Cullen Neal had an X-Ray on his bad ankle and it revealed that he did not suffer a fracture.
