Workshop evaluates future of Bernalillo County Open Space

Bernalillo County Open space

BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – What’s happening with parks in Bernalillo County? What’s the county planning to do with its open space areas? Those were some questions asked by county planners Friday.

They gathered to work on a master plan for park projects and ways to update the county’s Open Space. That means they’ll look at whether to add more community gardens or water wells and they’ll look at if areas used for recreation could be expanded or need a makeover.

Planners say some of their main focuses will be to preserve the county’s natural landscape and water. The workshop will be held again Saturday at the Hubble House off Isleta. The workshop is open to the public.
