A relatively weak cold front push through New Mexico tonight. Temperatures will drop between 10° and 15° across the side of the state. Meanwhile here in the metro we will occasionally get gusty east winds overnight and into tomorrow morning with temperatures dropping by about 5° thanks the front on Saturday. Temperatures will quickly rebound on Sunday well above average into the high 60s. Then the action really cranks up.
A blast of frigid air will push into the Midwest and eventually in the eastern New Mexico by Tuesday next week. This will be the big story nationwide throughout much of next week given how cold the temperatures will be. Northeastern New Mexico will have trouble escaping the high 30s for highs by Wednesday. Here in the metro area we won’t be as cold but we will see highs in the low 50s with a chance of showers developing by late on Friday.
