ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – There are two big weather stories to watch over the next few days.
The first will be cold morning temperatures in the Albuquerque metro area. Down in the valley on Tuesday morning, it will be around 30°. This could be our first official freeze of the fall season.
Meanwhile up in the Heights the low will be about 38°. This may well keep us from freezing but it’ll still be a chilly start. Temps will remain cool into Wednesday morning as well we could bottom out in the mid 30s.
The other big story is a storm system beginning to develop south of the state. The system will push more moisture into southeastern New Mexico during the day on Tuesday.
We could see scattered showers from the Sacramento mountains over to Eddy and Lea County’s. Meanwhile here in the metro will mainly see a mix of sun and clouds without much in the way of precipitation. As the storm slowly clears we will see more and more sunshine by the middle of the work week.
Below is a look at our morning lows Tuesday morning. As you can tell from the northern mountains down to the Rio Grande Valley it will definitely be a cool start.
