ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, was celebrated over the weekend.

People paid tribute to their ancestors and loved ones, and may attended or participated in the Marigold Parade in the South Valley on Sunday.

Hundreds painted their faces as skulls, and others headed to the South Broadway Cultural Center for an art exhibition with a lot of skulls and bright colors.

People say the celebration helps embrace the changes in life. The celebration also featured matachines, a traditional South American native dance.
