Lotaburger heist caught on camera

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Albuquerque police have released surveillance video of a burglary which happened on Oct. 18. They are hoping it will lead them to a suspect and they are asking the public for assistance.

A burglar stole several thousand dollars worth of vehicles and equipment from a locked Blake’s Lotaburger facility near Menaul and Carlisle.

In the video, the burglar fidgets with the lock until he’s able to open the gate. Police say he then broke into a truck attached to a trailer and drove off. Thirty minutes later, the thief returned and stole another truck. Police say this was a pretty pricey heist.

“We’re talking tens of thousands of dollars worth of trucks and the equipment they had inside with the trailers and the two vehicles he broke into. Tens of thousands of dollars that are now missing,” said Simon Drobik of the Albuquerque Police Department.

Those with any information are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 843-STOP (7867).
