'Fight Club' author discusses new novel

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Chuck Palahniuk, author of “Fight Club,” “Choke,” and numerous other successful novels, has just released his latest book, “Beautiful You,” in which he explores the apocalyptic marketing possibilities of female pleasure, and what effects they have on the rest of society. Inspired by the idea of what the “Stepford Wives” did to women, he sought to reverse the role a little bit, having a similar effect done to the men in his story.

Palahniuk, along with local store Book Works, will host an event Monday night inside the University of New Mexico Student Union Building at 7 p.m. Admission is the purchase of his book, which will already be signed. There will be a reading, and from the sounds of it, a lot more to experience at the event.

Palahniuk is also anticipating the release of his sequel to the original “Fight Club” which is presented in graphic novel form.
