ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Newly-released video shows a driver tired of waiting at a railroad crossing driving around the crossing arms. It ended up being a deadly mistake.
Police say the couple in the car was on their way to work earlier this month in the South Valley. Gates at the railroad were down and the red lights were flashing. Cars were parked waiting for the train to pass.
The video shows Luciana Cuellar and his girlfriend, Julie Vasquez, driving around the cars and through the gates when the train hit and killed them. They left behind a 5-year-old and a newborn.
