UNM hockey wins two in a row at home

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Lobo hockey had two games this weekend. They took on Mesa State on Friday and Saturday night, and won with ease in both match ups. UNM hockey is now 6-1-1 on the year, and their next game is on Oct. 17 at Northern Arizona.

The Lobos won their game on Friday 6-1, and they won on Saturday 4-0. Head Coach Grant Harvey could have eased up on Mesa State, but that wouldn’t be his style.

“Whenever we take our foot off the gas, that’s when teams come back,” he said. “So I say there is only so many minutes of the day, give me these certain amounts, and the rest you can do whatever you want with. We play 100 mph hockey and that’s the only way.”

UNM hockey is a division III team of the American Collegiate Hockey Association. Their home games are played at the Outpost Ice Arena at 8 p.m.
