We are watching a cold front that will be diving into the state on Sunday. Ahead of the front temperatures will rise above average into the mid to upper 70s for Albuquerque and the 70s along with the 80s in southern New Mexico. This front will not bring much in the way of rain, but it will certainly crank up the wind in central and northern New Mexico. Wind gusts will range from 40-50 mph Sunday afternoon with winds sustained around 20-30 mph at times. Due to the strong winds, a Wind Advisory has been issued for central and northern New Mexico from lunch time on Sunday until 9pm. Behind the front temperatures will be 10°-15° cooler on Columbus Day.
