ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Hundreds of balloons entered the skies above Albuquerque after officials gave pilots the green light to fly at the 43rd Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta.

Dawn patrol was delayed Monday at the International Balloon Fiesta due to wind conditions similar to Sunday. Balloons were grounded until about 6:30 a.m. as crowds walked around Balloon Fiesta Park drinking coffee, hot chocolate and eating burritos. The first balloon left Balloon Fiesta Park around 6:35 a.m.

Many spectators and KRQE reporters and photographers posted photos throughout the morning, and told the following story:
