Sex Week organizer says apology shames students

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – An organizer of a program promoting sex education at the University of New Mexico is blasting school administrators for apologizing about Sex Week.

Hunter Riley is asking people to sign a petition to support Sex Week at UNM.

The vice president for student affairs apologized for the classes, saying a lack of supervision allowed for the inclusion of sensational and controversial material to be presented.

Riley said calling the event sensational and controversial is misguiding and promotes shame and judgment.

The university had received several complaints about the planned workshops focusing on orgasms and group sex. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
