ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Lobos redshirt junior and former Albuquerque Academy star Brandon Branch has decided to end his football career at the University of New Mexico. The Lobo defensive back said he was making the move to focus more on academics.

Branch, who appeared in 25 games over the last four years, has plans to become an athletic director and is on pace to graduate this year.

In a statement, Branch thanked head coach Bob Davie and the Lobo staff. Davie said appreciated everything that Branch contributed to the program.
