APS could be part of downtown revitalization plans

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – APS could now be included in the master plan to revitalize Albuquerque’s downtown. Earlier this week, developers, APS leaders, business owners and citizens took a bus tour of downtown to look at the city’s potential.

They also heard ideas on how to attract families to the area. Ideas like adding grocery stores, new housing, transportation and schools. Right now APS is working alongside the city, CNM and other partners to make sure the nine schools in the downtown area can handle any growth.

Plans are already underway to revitalize the Fourth Street area which city officials say will help bring in more jobs and new housing options.
