Rappelling even to benefit Special Olympics

Over The Edge for Special Olympics

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Over the Edge for Special Olympics is a fundraising campaign and special event made up of a community of individuals, organizations, and businesses that collectively raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics, and celebrate with a 16-story rappelling adventure.

The event is taking place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. Registration is still open and available online. Registration is $25 per person and includes a free “League of Edgers” T-shirt. People also have the option to raise money for the event in lieu of the registration fee.

With a personal fund raising page, participants collect online donations from supporters wishing to send them “over the edge” for Special Olympics. Participants can create a fundraising page that will allow their friends, family and colleagues to “invest” in their rappel.

Participants must be at least 14 years old and weigh between 100 and 300 pounds.
