SANTA FE (AP) – Las Cruces real estate broker Laura Conniff has been appointed by Gov. Susana Martinez to the New Mexico Spaceport Authority.

Conniff is the co-owner of a real estate business and a former member of the New Mexico State University board of regents.

The authority is responsible for overseeing the state’s commercial spaceport in southern New Mexico and its members hire an executive director to handle day-to-day operations.

Conniff fills a vacancy created by the resignation of Ben Woods of Las Cruces, who had served nine years on the authority.

Her appointment is subject to confirmation by the state Senate

Conniff received an undergraduate degree in business administration from NMSU.
