ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Performing with symphonies throughout the U.S. and recognized world-wide, professional Pianist Hyperion Knight will be playing this Sunday in Albuquerque.

Hyperion is the featured performer, and a former winner of the piano competition, Josh Rupley, will also perform. The competition provides cash awards to the winners, plus the opportunity to perform live with the New Mexico Philharmonic.

The competition is named for Jackie McGehee, long-time member and past president of the former New Mexico Symphony Guild, now the Music Guild of New Mexico, the organization that underwrites the competition. Jackie McGehee, herself a former concert pianist, was the driving force behind establishing the competition, and continues to spearhead the event each year.

Tickets to the fundraiser are $60 and are available at holdmyticket.com. There is a link for purchasing tickets on the link shown above. Students with ID may purchase $15 at the door only starting at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.
