Scattered thunderstorms were centered east and south of the Albuquerque metro area today. The main weather feature we’re having to contend with is a cold front squeezing through the Sandias this evening. Look for gusty winds to continue throughout the overnight hours before coming down during the morning. This weekend looks like more of a spot shower type setup as opposed to widespread storms in central portions of the state. However out to the east and south flooding rains will still be a concern.
The main area of concern looks like the Sacramento mountains. We’ve already seen rain amounts there in excess of 3 inches and we could see you just as much over the weekend.
As far as more rain in the metro goes we could grab a spot storm over the weekend but chances increase by Monday and Tuesday of next week.
