Highland High student finds suspicious note, item

Highland High under shelter-in-place

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – “If you touch it, you’ll die.” That’s what a threatening note said on a suspicious item found at Highland High School Thursday morning.

Police say a student found some sort of device outside a school building and reported it to the school resource officer.

That officer then evacuated kids in the area and called APD.

Students were not allowed out of their classrooms as APD investigated.

But, police say they were not in danger.

The bomb squad then destroyed the device using their robot and water.
