APD investigates road rage shooting in parking lot

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Albuquerque police officers are trying to piece together how a strange road rage-fueled confrontation in a Home Depot parking lot unfolded.

It happened around 11:00 am near Montaño and I-25.

According to APD officer Tanner Tixier, two men upset over an incident on the road squared off in the store parking lot.

One man got out with a handgun, the other one stayed in his pickup truck and ran the first man over.

Tixier says at some point during the confrontation, the first man’s handgun fired a single shot.

The man who was run over suffered a shoulder injury and was taken to the hospital. Nobody else was hurt.

APD is still looking to talk to the man who was driving the truck to get his side of the story. Witness descriptions are that he was driving a possibly purple Ford pickup with a CB radio antenna.

It’s unclear right now who will face charges.
