Mark’s Tuesday Evening Weather Report

After searing heat baked the state over the past couple of days there will be changes on the way by the end of the work week. High-pressure currently anchored over the state will shift to the east by Thursday. This will open the moisture door from the south and allow for widespread thunderstorms to funnel in for the end the work week and the beginning of the weekend. What makes this pattern especially interesting is the fact that we will have deep moisture from tropical storm Dolly to our south. If we can tap into that moisture it could been a very wet set up into the beginning of next week.
Below is the look at the model projections for rain over the next seven days. As you can tell portions of northern New Mexico could pick up 2 to 3+ inches. This would be a great wrap to what is already been a very good monsoon season.
