ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A man has been arrested after he was accused of stabbing the father of a child he took.

Police said early Monday morning, the victim was trying to get his child back from Michael Fox at a northeast gas station. They said Fox was giving the victim, Kenneth Boyd, his girlfriend and their child a ride home after a party.

But when the child started cry Fox pulled over so the parents could get a bottle out of the trunk. That is when Fox drove off with the child.

Fox agreed to leave the child at the Circle K with another person. When the parents got there police said Fox attacked and stabbed Boyd.

Detectives found and arrested Fox, but haven’t said what the motive was behind the killing. He’s expected to be charged sometime Monday.

Boyd died at the hospital. The child is safe.
