John’s Monday Evening Forecast

The sunny skies and hot temperatures will continue as you go back to work Tuesday. Afternoon highs will run 5° – 15° above average Tuesday afternoon. Albuquerque will hit the low 90s, while the south continues to flirt with triple digit heat.

The area of high pressure sitting over the state now will shift east by the end of the week. That will allow for modest moisture flow from the south, leading to scattered afternoon storms by Thursday and Friday. Over the weekend, additional moisture and lift will arrive in the northeast courtesy of a back door cold front.

As moisture returns to the state, temperatures will come back down. Albuquerque will return to the low 80s by the end of the weekend and start of next week. The southeast will drop back to the upper 80s! provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
