Police investigate case involving fake school project

FARMINGTON, N.M. (KRQE) – Officials with the Farmington School District said someone has been asking people there to hand over money for a fake school project.

The Daily Times reports the Central Consolidated School District received reports someone has been going door to door asking for donations.

According to witnesses, the person says the donations were for a local middle school restoration project. The district says no such project exists.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Farmington police.
