Police ID murder victim, issue warrant for suspect

Daryl Martinez has been identified by police as a suspect in a shooting that left one man dead.

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The name of the man shot to death in Albuquerque on Saturday has been released and police have issued an arrest warrant for his suspected killer.

APD officials said 28-year-old James Lucero was gunned down around 2 a.m. on Harper Drive near I-25.

Police say 19-year-old Daryl Martinez pulled the trigger..

A warrant has been issued for his arrest. He will be charged with murder.

At this time, police have not released a motive for the killing.
