Police ID suspect killed in Dairy Queen robbery

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department has identified the man killed after allegedly robbing a Dairy Queen Thursday.

Deputies said 26-year-old Abran Gallegos walked up to the window with a weapon and demanded money. An employee gave him money and then dove behind the counter. That is when another employee, who feared for his and the lives other employees and customers, pulled out his gun and opened fire.

Gallegos was shot several times, killing him.

Sergeant Aaron Williamson said he has an extensive criminal history.
