ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Albuquerque police arrested a man for allegedly shooting at another driver in a road rage incident.

It happened at Fourth and Griegos Thursday afternoon after police say Lauro Rubio-Aguirre honked his horn at the woman driving in front of him for not moving when the light turned green.

Police say he then pulled a gun and fired off a couple of shots.

The woman and her three passengers were not hurt.

Aguirre was in court Friday to face a judge on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Aguirre claims the driver stopped her car and that’s when he saw a male passenger trying to get out.

He told police he shot at them because he was scared. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
