Eddy County deputy arrested for domestic violence

Deputy Lisa Springer was arrested accused of beating up her live-in girlfriend. The charges were later dismissed.

EDDY COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – An Eddy County Sheriff’s deputy has been arrested and accused of beating up her live-in girlfriend.

According to the criminal complaint, Deputy Lisa Springer was drinking heavily and accused her girlfriend of having an affair with a man.

Springer allegedly hit her girlfriend several times before tripping on the edge of the footboard of the bed, cutting her jaw.

The victim claims Springer tried to use her position as a deputy to intimidate her, saying she quote had “the law on her side”. The victim also says Springer tried to get the girlfriend to point a gun at her.

Springer is facing several charges including battery. She is currently on administrative leave.
