ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Something is making dozens of kids and teachers sick and APS thinks it might be Norovirus.
APS sent a letter to parents of students at Susie Rayos Marmon Elementary school in northwest Albuquerque warning an illness is spreading fast.
Sources tell News 13 more than 100 staff and students were out sick over the past week and that another 35 were sent home Friday.
While the cause of the sickness has not yet been determined the letter says it could be Norovirus.
APS says the school is working with the Department of Health to stop the spread of the illness.
News 13 is told crews in protective gear are cleaning the school thoroughly but the school remains open.
