LOVINGTON, N.M. (KRQE) – A 17-year-old high school student has died after being severely injured in an accident on campus.

Lovington police say it happened Wednesday afternoon in a parking lot just after school let out.

The teen suffered severe head injuries and was airlifted to a Lubbock hospital.

She was pronounced dead Thursday evening.

Her name hasn’t been released.

Officers will only say a vehicle driven by another student was involved and that the girl was not run over or hit with the car.
