BCSO: Robbery suspect shot, killed during robbery

Albuquerque Dairy Queen Robbery

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Deputies say a Dairy Queen employee shot and killed a robber Thursday night.

It happened on Isleta just south of Bridge just after 6:00 p.m.

Bernalillo County Sheriffs deputies say a man walked up to the window with a weapon and demanded money. The employee gave him money and then dove behind the counter.

Deputies say that’s when another employee feared for his, the other employees and customer’s lives so he pulled out his gun and opened fire. He shot the suspect several times killing him.

So far, that employee is not facing any charges but BCSO is still investigating.

Deputies are interviewing him right now.

Deputies haven’t released the suspect’s name yet.
