West Mesa shut out Highland to start season

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – West Mesa coach Ron McMath said back in July that he was very excited his team would be one of the first to kick off the 2014 New Mexico high school football season.

The West Mesa Mustangs added to their coach’s excitement Wednesday night, shutting out the Highland Hornets 36 to nothing. The Hornets loss spoiled the debut of former University of New Mexico Lobo football player Stacy Washington who is in his first year as head coach at Highland.
