Suspects arrested in dairy stabbing

ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – Two brothers are behind bars in connection to the stabbing of a dairy worker Tuesday in southeastern New Mexico.

Chaves County sheriff’s investigators say 21-year-old Esequiel Chairez and his 18-year-old brother Ismael Chairez attacked the victim around 4 a.m. at the Cheyenne Dairy near Roswell.

Deputies say the victim was stabbed and beaten with a bat, but will recover.

The victim told deputies the brothers attacked him in retaliation because they were fired.
