Numerous showers swept across the state this afternoon and the action will continue into the overnight hours. A storm system to the north and west will approach and cross Colorado Wednesday and Thursday. As this happens, this will continue the showers through tonight and Wednesday. Flash Flood Watches are in effect across the western two-thirds of the state through late tonight.
The storm exits Thursday. Some showers will continue across the northeast. However, the rest of the state will see drier air in the wake of the storm system. The state continues to dry Friday.
By the holiday weekend, expect lots of sunshine. But, with drier air in place, temperatures will be heating up. Highs in Albuquerque will reach the upper 80s, while the south and east will warm well into the 90s.
