Carlsbad police impersonator arrested

CARLSBAD, N.M. (KRQE) – A Carlsbad man is behind bars accused of impersonating a police officer in order to frame his ex-wife.

According to the Current Argus, 32-year-old Monseis Rodriguez called his ex-wife’s workplace and identified himself as a member of the Pecos Valley Drug Task Force. He told them she had been using drugs.

But authorities say it was all a ploy to get her fired.

His ex-wife does have a restraining order against Rodriguez.

He’s charged with impersonating a peace officer and is being held on a $5,000 cash bond.
