RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) – Friends, family and lawmen from all over the state are saying goodbye today to a long-time Bernalillo County sheriff’s deputy.
Deputy Shannon Key lost his seven-year battle with brain cancer last week.
Sky News 13 captured video of the funeral procession from Rio Rancho to Albuquerque.
Key’s body was taken to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department main office in downtown where his final dispatch will be called out.
His burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park on Menaul.
Key had been in law enforcement for more than 17 years.
