Pajarito Ski Area could get its own water pipeline

LOS ALAMOS, N.M. (KRQE) – The Pajarito Ski Area could get its own water pipeline with the goal of using it to make snow.

The plan is for a temporary water pipeline to go across the national forest and pump water from the Los Alamos Reservoir and a Los Alamos County water tank to Pajarito.

That water would then be used to make snow later this year and possibly be used for fighting fires in 2015.

A lack of snow kept the ski area closed most of last season.

The meeting will be at Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church in Los Alamos at 6 p.m.
