APD: Man used ‘Breaking Bad’ to avoid trouble

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – People know “Breaking Bad” has ended, but an Albuquerque man didn’t let that stop him from saying he was part of the TV show to try to get out of trouble.

Police say Eugene Crane was parked on the side of Candelaria near Zuni on Saturday night. According to a criminal complaint, he and a woman in his car were acting suspicious when an officer walked up to the car.

Police say Crane said he was casting for “Breaking Bad” and had gotten lost.

Police say Crane is a convicted felon and they found four handguns in his car. Officers arrested him.

He has since bonded out of the Metropolitan Detention Center.
