Suspects in armed home invasion face judge

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Two men suspected in an armed home invasion saw a judge Sunday.

Albuquerque police say they were called out by homeowners just after 7 a.m. Saturday to a house near Menaul and Fifth Street.

APD says 46-year-old Matt Malone and 33-year-old Mario Rivera robbed two people at gunpoint and led officers on a chase.

In court, Judge Castillo Dowler said both men are a danger to the community and set their bonds for $50,000 cash only. They’re both facing several charges including aggravated burglary kidnapping. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
