RR police to close roads for funeral procession

RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) – Traffic will be diverted in Rio Rancho on Monday due to a funeral procession for a Bernalillo County deputy.

Shannon Key passed away after a long fight with brain cancer. He was a deputy for 15 years.

Police say the road closures for his funeral escort will affect Golf Course Road from Ann Circle to Westside Boulevard at 9 a.m. to facilitate access to Mesa Baptist Church. The road will reopen once the escort has reached the church.

Then at around 11:30 a.m., Golf Course Road will close at the escort make its way out of Rio Rancho. State Road 528 and Westside Boulevard will close as the escort passes into Albuquerque and continues on Alameda Boulevard, police say.
