Dean Staley takes on the ice bucket challenge

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – KRQE’s Dean Staley took on the ice bucket challenge that has been sweeping the Internet and social media this summer, all in the name of funding for ALS research.

When people are challenged, they are supposed to either pour a bucket of ice water over their heads within 24 hours or donate $100 to ALS research. Many people do both. Once they complete the challenge, they challenge three more people.

Staley was challenged by the wife of KRQE meteorologist Mark Ronchetti. He says he’s had experience with ALS in his family, so there is no way he would pass up the challenge. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
