Santa Fe to pop tires on shuttle proposal

Santa Fe Shuttle Proposal

SANTA FE (KRQE) – The Santa Fe City Council is putting the brakes on a proposed shuttle service.

Mayor Javier Gonzales says he hoped the system would boost the city’s economy.

The shuttle was to run between Santa Fe University and the Santa Fe rail yard, from 6 to 11 p.m. and was expected to start next week, but city councilors pulled the item from Monday night’s agenda.

Members of the finance committee were concerned about the time shuttle service ended, saying most college students went out at 11 p.m. Mayor Gonzales says he’ll look for additional funding so the shuttle can run until 1 a.m. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
