Man attends probation meeting in stolen cart

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man rolled up to his probation appointment in a stolen electronic shopping cart.

According to the criminal complaint, 18-year-old Michael Johnson went to metro court Monday in the cart. When the probation officer asked him where he got the cart, Johnson admitted he ripped it off from the Walmart at San Mateo and Zuni.

Officers notified the store.

Walmart says the cart is worth more than $1,800 and the store is pressing charges against Johnson.

He’s being held at MDC on a no-bond hold.
