FBI identifies skeletal remains of Farmington man

FARMINGTON, N.M. (KRQE) – Skeletal remains found more than two years ago on the Navajo Nation Reservation have been identified and now police are asking for help determining how the man died.

The FBI was able to determine the remains were Jesse Jacob Estrada Jr.through DNA analysis. Estrada was 25 at the time and was last seen in April 2012 in Farmington.

Police say they found a skull and other bone fragments a month later near the Nenahnezad Chapter House.

The FBI and the Navajo Nation Division of Public Safety are investigating the case. They are asking anyone with information to come forward and call 505-889-1300. Tips can also be submitted online.
