GRANTS, N.M. (KRQE) – A jail riot in Grants is now over.
Corrections officers regained control of the Cibola County Correctional Facility after inmates became unruly and attacked a lieutenant and sergeant.
Interim County Manager Bob Gallagher confirmed the riot started at 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
Around 10:30 p.m., he said guards had regained control of the jail which holds 230 inmates.
