ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – On Friday, KRQE News 13 reported on a dark problem all around the Big-I. No one has changed the burned out light bulbs above and below the interchange and no one wanted to take responsibility.

The city said it was not their problem. They said PNM and New Mexico Department of Transportation were responsible. However, DOT and PNM said the big lights are the city’s to maintain. On Monday, the city finally agreed.

The city said they learned they are required to maintain the high mast lighting within the metro and are now working to fix the problem. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
