Kids rewarded at Isotopes game for reading

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – On Sunday, kids who’ve been reading this summer were rewarded.

“I like to read because it makes my imagination grow,” said Club Read winner Makayla Loughridge.

The state of New Mexico partnered with Dion’s and the Isotopes this year to sponsor a reading challenge. The winners got to throw out a ceremonial first pitch at Sunday’s game.

“I like to read because it’s fun to read and it makes your mind grow, and it makes you smarter the more you read,” said Daniel Lopez.

The kids also watched the game from their club level seats and the Isotopes mascot, Orbit, delivered pizza to them.
