NM man pleads guilty in murder-for-hire case.

PORTALES, N.M. (KRQE) – A Portales man has pleaded guilty in a murder-for-hire plot to kill his wife.

Cody Guss, 37, is facing a possible 10 years in prison.

Investigators say he tried to pay, who he thought was a hit man, $5,000 to murder his wife and make it look like suicide.

Of course the tables were turned when that hit man turned out to be an undercover cop.

According to the criminal complaint, Guss wanted his wife dead because she, “wasn’t a good mother.”
