SFPD: Man shot, killed near Canyon Road

SANTA FE (KRQE) – Police say a Santa Fe man was shot and killed Thursday night near Canyon Road.

Officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of east Alameda near Monsignor Patrick Smith Park and Canyon Road on a shooting report just before 8:30 p.m.

Santa Fe Police Department says a Hispanic man, 45 to 50 years of age was shot by another man and died on scene. SFPD has detained the man for questioning as detectives investigate the incident.

At this time east Alameda is closed from the 1100 block south to Monsignor Patrick Smith Park. Police are asking people to avoid the area.
