Police issue arroyo warning after rescue

Arroyo rescue hand

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Albuquerque police were out Thursday morning telling people to get out of the arroyos. It comes just hours after a dramatic arroyo rescue Wednesday.

Police pulled a 16-year-old girl out of an arroyo near Winrock Mall where she and a man had gone in.

When officers arrived, they found the girl clinging to a cement pillar. Officers then tied their jackets together to reach the girl.

The man was found several miles down near Cutler and Indian School.
